Almost every Delhiite has visited the National Zoological Park at least once in a lifetime. A zoo is one of the perfect picnic spots in the Delhi.
The Delhi zoo came many years later after New Delhi was built. Although the idea to have a zoo at the Delhi was mooted in 1951, the park was inaugurated in November 1959. Indian Board for Wildlife created a committee IN 1952 to look into creating a zoo for Delhi. In 1953 the committee gives the location for the zoo, and in October 1955 it assigned N. D. Bachkheti of the Indian Forest Service to manage the creation of the zoo.
The zoo is part of saving breeding programs of the Central Zoo Authority for the Royal Bengal tiger, swamp deer, Indian rhinoceros, brow-antlered deer, Asiatic lion, and red jungle fowl.
Thus this conservation inspires us to do our best in anyhow for the survival of animals in our surrounding at least.
